2021-2022 Sharp and MetLife ID Cards

As of August 1st your FY21 SDPEBA sponsored health plans are now in effect. That means you should be receiving a new ID card for your dental HMO and Sharp health plans soon!  

When Can I expect my Sharp ID Card? 

Sharp cards should be arriving sometime between August 14th and September 1st. If you have not received your card by then, please follow the steps as listed on our support site here:

When Can I expect my Dental HMO Card? 

Note: There is no ID card for MetLife’s PPO plan, only the HMO plan.  

You should receive your Dental HMO card between September 1st and September 14th. However, you do not need to show your insurance card in order to receive services so long as you already selected your dentist while signing up.  

If you’re unsure if you selected your dentist, you can log into MetLife’s website or call them at (800) 880-1800. You can also contact your dentist and ask them.

 Other Plan ID Cards 

There are no “necessary” ID cards for our other plans, however, if you’d like to print out your own VSP ID card, you can do so through their website.  

Simply head to https://www.vsp.com/my-account/member-id-card or go to https://www.VSP.com, log in, and then click “Member Details” in the top right. Again, you won’t need this to access benefits, but it might be useful when you’re looking for in-network options!
