June 30th is the last day active employees have to sign up for Aflac this Open Enrollment period!
As a reminder you are not able to sign up for Aflac once you retire, so if you’re planning to retire within a year, make sure you consider adding this plan, as you can keep it throughout retirement!
Aflac is not like traditional insurance, instead of paying your doctors, it pays you! You’ll be able to put the money you receive from Aflac claims towards your mortgage/rent, your groceries, and other important items in order to take care of your own finances should something happen to you.
We offer four different Aflac plans: Accident, Critical Illness, Hospital Indemnity, and Whole Life insurance. Each of these plans cover different qualifying events and can be stacked on top of one another. Beyond that, the Accident and Critical illness plans feature wellness benefits, where you can be paid just for getting a physical, blood test, or a vaccine!

Since these plans are relatively different from one another, you can really tailor your coverage to your lifestyle to make sure you’re able to afford treatment without breaking the bank. For example, do you work somewhere that requires physical labor? The Accident Plan can help cover you if you get an injury on the job. If you have a family history of cancer, consider the Critical Illness plan. If you have a surgery coming up or are pregnant/planning to get pregnant, consider the Hospital Indemnity plan!
Often times, if you’re careful about what you sign up for and when, you’re able to effectively pay your entire Aflac annual premium just by doing things you’d normally do, (like going to the doctor, getting your flu shot, etc.).
