New Year, New You – Update your Information

Times change, and so do addresses!

Its important to keep your details updated with us and the county to make sure important information is delivered to the right place. The same goes for updating information concerning your life insurance (such as your beneficiaries and their contact information), as well as any other pertinent information relating to your plans (such as, information relating to your home-auto insurance).

Why are you bothering me to do this?

Well, straw-man that I’m arguing with, there are two reasons!

For one, to make your life easier in the long run. If your insurance tries to contact you for a refund, a payment, or maybe even a better deal, its necessary to have the correct information on file. Worst-case scenarios are made “less-worse” by having all your ducks-in-a-row prior to the scenario’s arrival.

And for two, when open enrollment comes around and we end up pushing a near infinite amount of important information, it’ll be in your best interest to just receive what is important to you, rather than having to sift through countless news articles about things that don’t exactly apply to you!

All in all, updating your information just makes your life easier. It’s one of those 5-minute chores that gives a lifetime of peace of mind. Which, if you ask me, is a pretty sweet deal!

Updated Contact Information

Changed your phone number, email address, or maybe even your name? If so, please email SDPEBA’s support team ([email protected]) and let us know about what has changed, if you would rather call us, you can at 888-315-8027.

If you’ve changed your address, you’re going to have to update that via the county. Contact your HR department and let them know you’ve moved, when they update their system it’ll update our system as well!

Updating Information pertaining to your Benefits

As for updates relating to your beneficiaries, your payment choices, or just about anything else in the wide world of insurance, you’ll have to go through your benefits provider.

Meaning, anything SDPEBA manages (such as Aflac or MetLife or Identity Guard) you can go through us. But if it is a benefit provided by the county or your workplace, you’re going to have to contact them.
