MetLife Legal Resources
MetLife Legal covers a LOT of different legal/legal related issues. From in court representation to contract/document preparation, this is an amazing plan… if you know how to use it.
Below is a quick list that gives you the tools to get started using this amazing plan!
MetLife Legal how to Guide
We created an article a few years ago that goes over the ins and outs of MetLife Legal as part of our “Everything to know about” series. This plan talks about how to register, how much it costs, what it covers, and how to actually start using it. If you’re the type of person who reads the instruction manual for a toaster, this is the article you need:

The Shorter how to Guide
Now if you’re the type to skim the instruction manual for a toaster then you might be more interested in this brochure that MetLife put together themselves. While it doesn’t tell you everything you could ever want to know and more, it does check all the boxes on what’s covered and how to get started, check it out here:
How to Check what’s Covered
If you want to get into the nitty gritty of what the plan covers, you’ll want the fact sheet. This document is long, but you can easily skim through to find what services you’re looking for and find out what you need to know. Check it out by clicking the link below.
You can also contact 800-821-6400 and ask them if something specific is covered.
How to Use the Plan
Now if you’re just looking to get started you have two options: online or over the phone. The online portal is a lot faster and easier to use, all you need to do is go to www.LegalPlans.com and click “Log In” from there click “Create Account” and follow the on-screen instructions.
If you’d rather call, the number you need is 800-821-6400.
Note: If at any point you’re asked for a password (not for your account) the SDPEBA password is 5930030.
Once you’ve called or logged in you just need to follow the instructions and you’ll be connected with a lawyer in no-time!
Note on Exclusions
There are some exclusions that might affect what is covered or what’s not. For example, you can get legal representation for Real Estate law for landlord disputes, but not if you’re the landlord. Please check through the brochure or call the legal helpline before you seek coverage, just to be sure!
How to Enroll
Enrolling is only available during Open Enrollment. Call us during that time and we’ll get you set up!
Have a question that wasn’t covered here? Contact SDPEBA by emailing [email protected] or call 888-305-8027, we’ll help you out!
