How to Register for and use VSP.com

Whether you have SDPEBA’s VSP plan or the City/County’s, the VSP website is an amazing tool to help you find nearby doctors, check information about your plan, and submit claims if you happen to go out of network.

Registering for VSP.com

You don’t need to register for VSP.com in order to use your plan, but we highly recommend that you do. It just makes things easier. Plus! Registration only takes a few minutes if you follow the steps below:

  1. Go to https://VSP.com
  2. Click “Create an Account” in the top right
  3. Enter the last four of your Social Security number and the other information below

Note: There is an option to enter a member ID instead of your social, but this is not your Employee ID. We recommend you use the last four of your social security number unless you’ve received a member ID from VSP directly.
  4. You might need to register your account by heading to your email inbox. But once that’s done, you’re fully registered and ready to go!

Unsure if you have a VSP.com account already? Follow these steps

  1. Click Log In in the top right corner.
  2. Click “Forgot Username/Password”
  3. Enter your information
  4. If it gives you a username or sends you an email to reset your password, then you do have an account, if not… well, scroll back up and follow the steps to register!

Using VSP.com

VSP’s site has tons of great options to help you save money on all things related to eye care. From their site you can find a doctor, check your benefit information, get exclusive offers, shop for lenses and frames, and submit out-of-network-claims!

These are all available on the various tabs on VSP’s homepage, for an in-depth look at each of these tabs, check out this video!
