MetLife Legal
Over 50% of adults need some form of legal representation every year. Whether that be dealing with long-term personal or business problems; a sudden suit, like traffic tickets; or legal document writing (like will and trusts, power of attorney, or leases). These can be time-consuming, expensive, and just stressful to deal with.
Which is why SDPEBA partners with MetLife Legal. The annual cost of MetLife Legal is often far less than the cost of any single legal process or document creation. On top of that, you get access to a wide spread of legal services such as document preparation, free legal consultations, and family law assistance (for things like adoption and directives).

VSP
You can receive VSP coverage from either SDPEBA or the County. We both offer different plans, click here to learn more about what we offer. The basic difference is that the County’s plan costs less but only allows you to get a new pair of glasses every other year, whereas SDPEBA’s plan allows you to get two-pairs a year.
No matter which plan you sign up for, VSP offers savings on lenses, frames, and eye exams. Not to mention discounts on LASIK, hearing aids, and sunglasses!

Unum
Long Term Care is one of the most difficult forms of insurance to get, but luckily SDPEBA has partnered with Unum to ensure our members have access to it.
Long Term Care refers to the type of care you receive at a nursing home, at hospice, or maybe even in your own home. Long Term Care insurance helps make this type of care more affordable and can help make this expensive form of treatment more approachable.

Identity Guard uses machine learning to analyze and stop threats before they cause irreparable harm. This program protects you from fraud, identity theft, ransomware, malware, and phishing attempts. Purchasing Power
Purchasing Power is an online catalogue similar to Amazon that helps ease the financial burden of large purchases and gets the products in your hands sooner rather than later. Unlike other credit or law-away services, items bought through Purchasing Power do not accrue interest, there are no changes to your rates once you make the purchase, and you are shipped the item as soon as you start making payments.
Note that while Purchasing Power is a great way to budget appropriately when you’re short on cash, it is not a discount service. Items listed on Purchasing Power will end up costing more than if you buy them outright. That being said, Purchasing Power is a great tool to use in order to afford something you need, like a large appliance or a laptop, without having to worry about debt or dipping into your savings.
Enrollment is year-round and you can sign up on their site! Just head to http://www.sdpeba.purchasingpower.com and click the “sign up” button. Fill in your information (for Employer/Organization put in SDPEBA) and then start shopping, it's that easy!
