The City’s Wellness Program - Rewards for Living Healthy

On top of Sharp’s Best Health program, City employees have access to the City’s wellness site. Much like Best Health, the City’s wellness program offers rewards and incentives for putting your health first, as well as resources, classes, and events all designed to make healthy living easier.

Wellness San Diego is a program that promotes physical, emotional, and environmental well-being by providing city employees with resources and regular events to make healthy living easy. Through the City Net site, public employees have access to weekly online yoga, meditation, Zumba classes; health webinars; and special “challenges” that reward healthy living.

Their classes follow a regular schedule that you can find on the City Net site or through their monthly calendar sent out by your department’s wellness champion.

On top of these regular events, the calendar will also point out specific webinars hosted by experts in different fields of wellness. They host webinars on a variety of topics, from financial wellness to general health! You can watch these live or after the fact on https://citynet.sandiego.gov/develop/wellness

Their special challenges offer unique rewards for healthy living. Their most recent was a month-long BINGO sheet that incentivized healthy choices by rewarding participants who could do five wellness tasks in a row. These tasks ranged from reading a book to avoiding sweets for 3 days and emphasized the benefits of creating healthier routines. These special challenges change regularly, so be on the lookout for new activities that incentivize healthy lifestyles.

Between City net and Best Health, SDPEBA members have access to a lot of educational content and resources that help make healthy living easy. Be sure you’re making the most out of these amazing offers.
